Alonso’s 2014 Formula One Ferrari has been labelled a “vacuum cleaner” or “Anteater,” as it features a significant bump in the nose and, according to the Spaniard. its odd shape is something that just could not be ignored on the grid. “They are uglier,” Alonso said in an interview with CNN.
“I think we have to be honest with our fans and ourselves first of all. The new cars are not good enough because people look to Formula One for excellence of motorsport, of aerodynamics, excellence of performance and technology. And when you see those front parts of the car, it doesn’t look like all the things I said.”
“I think we will find different solutions. The engineers are clever enough to make the car fast and also beautiful.”
New F1 cars are ugly, says Alonso.
