Jacques Villeneuve has accused the FIA of performing a “backflip” during its ultimately fruitless search for a new team to join the Formula One grid next year.
The 1997 world champion, together with former GP2 outfit Durango, applied to take up the vacant 13th team position in 2011 but F1’s governing body last month opted against giving any of the applicants the green light.
