Vettel Onboard—Brazil GP Qualifying 2011
Sebastian Vettel set a new record for pole positions in the 2011 Grand Prix of Brazil at Interlagos, posting his ground-breaking 15th of the season to move ahead of Nigel Mansell, whom he had earlier equalled in Abu Dhabi. The World Champion took his Red Bull round in a superb 1m 11.918s.
With the threat of rain appearing to have lessened in Q3, only Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton went out at the beginning of the session. Rosberg posted a 1m 13.159s, but Vettel showed his hand with a 1m 12.268s, the fastest time of the weekend so far. On the last lap, he then set new fastest first and middle sector times in a stunning performance, typical for 2011. The onboard video is brilliant indeed.
