Nordschleife Victory 1963

Surtees—Germany 1963

England’s John Surtees winning the 1963 German Grand Prix at the original Nürburgring Nordschleife in the Ferrari 156. Jim Clark led away from pole in his customary fashion, but when the engine in Clark’s Lotus went down to just seven cylinders, Surtees was able to pass him easily to take the checkered flag by 1m 17.5s.
