Lewis To Lotus, Maybe

Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton has shot off a warning to his McLaren team saying “I am not young anymore and I want to win races.” The Briton’s contract at McLaren expires at the end of the current season, which is turning out to be a big disappointment for the 2008 champion.

With only one race win this season, in Montreal, Hamilton is fourth in the driver’s standings, his title challenge fading away due to poor team tactics, an uncompetitive car and unreliable tires. In an interview with R-Sport in Moscow, Hamilton said it would take a lot to wrench him away from the team that brought him into the sport, but things need to change.

With Michael Schumacher expected to continue with Mercedes for another year, Mark Webber having re-upped with Red Bull for 2013 and Fernando Alonso at Ferrari still bristling from his scrimmages with Hamilton in 2009, that leaves Lotus as an unlikely long-shot should Hamilton decide to leave McLaren.
