Webber Takes Monaco Pole

At the track where grid position matters more than any other, Red Bull’s Mark Webber will start the Monaco Grand Prix from pole position after beating out the surprisingly quick Robert Kubica in qualifyingMonaco GP Qualifying As It Happened | BBC Sport | F1.

Kubica seemed poised to take a surprise pole after setting the pace in the first part of the third qualifying session, but the Australian Red Bull driver produced two outstanding laps to grab the top spot.

Webber’s team mate Sebastian Vettel took third place after another late effort while Ferrari’s Felipe Massa rounded out the second row.

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton qualified in fifth ahead of Mercedes team-mates Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher.
